——The Tangyang Photovoltaic Project Wins China Huadian Corporation's 2025 Power "Excellence Project Award."

 

 

Recently, China Huadian Corporation Limited announced the results of its 2025 Power "Excellence Project Award" selection. The Tangyang Photovoltaic Project (Muli Block 2), for which our company served as the lead design institute, has been successfully selected. This recognition not only affirms the quality and comprehensive performance of the projects design work but also underscores our companys accumulated expertise in renewable energy power engineering design.

 

 

The Tangyang Photovoltaic Project (Muli Block 2) is located in Tangyang Township, Muli Tibetan Autonomous County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, at an elevation ranging from 4,100 to 4,700 meters above sea level. The harsh natural environment and challenging construction conditions associated with such high altitude placed stringent demands on the scientific rigor, safety, and adaptability of the engineering design. As the core design institute, our company adhered to the philosophy of Lean Design, Green Empowerment, assembling a dedicated design team to conduct thorough site surveys and carefully assess constraints posed by high altitude and extreme weather. Based on this analysis, we developed an integrated design solution that balances safety, economic efficiency, and ecological sustainability.

 

 

During the design process, the team prioritized key technological optimization alongside ecological protection. Leveraging the unique high-altitude terrain, we optimized the layout of photovoltaic (PV) arrays and the substation design, arranging 75 PV array blocks across the site and constructing a new 220 kV booster substation to ensure efficient power collection and transmission. Furthermore, we incorporated a hydro-solar hybrid development approach, enabling synergy with the nearby Kajiwa Hydropower Station to enhance overall renewable energy utilization efficiency and support Sichuans power grid during dry-season supply shortages.At the same time, strict adherence to ecological conservation requirements was maintained throughout the design. Sensitive ecological zones were deliberately avoided, and construction access routes were carefully planned. Detailed environmental protection measures were integrated into the design to minimize the projects impact on the surrounding ecosystem, achieving coordinated development between renewable energy deployment and environmental stewardship.

 

 

With a total investment exceeding RMB 1.1 billion, the project has an installed capacity of 240 MW. Over its 25-year operational life, it is expected to generate an average of approximately 408 million kWh annually, saving about 123,000 tons of standard coal and reducing CO₂ emissions by roughly 339,000 tons per year, delivering significant energy-saving and emission-reduction benefits.This award from China Huadian Corporation represents strong validation of the projects design quality and holistic valueand serves as motivation for our company to continuously elevate technical capabilities and service standards.
